Indian Patent Application Number : 201841015108
US Patent Application Number : Will update soon
Problem Statement:
Currently every mobile device will work only with SIM card
either CDMA/GSM and there is a limitation with SIM slots in each mobile hence
users can choose or use only limited networks in the single mobile device and
there is no chance to increase the mobile networks without removing the old SIM
card from the mobile device.
Solution:
The objective of this idea is to remove the SIM card
concept and make the SIM-Less mobile phones.
How it works:
Each mobile phone is embedded with Mobile device ID which
is unique (world-wide) and can’t be replaced or modified in any ways but can be
read from the mobile device. The manufacturer generate the mobile device ID at
the time of manufacturing the device and will be printed the same on the mobile
device and or on manual.
Whenever customer wants to choose a network operator, the
customer simply provides the mobile device, Device ID and along with the
required documents to the operator. Once the network operator approved the
connection and then the operator will transfer few data (The data can be
operator ID etc… ) into the customer’s mobile phone and also they will link the
operator data with the device ID. Once the data transfer is done the network
operator can lock their data to avoid manipulating or for any modifications. Once
the operator activated the device ID in the operator server then the mobile
device starts to receive the signal. Customers can also subscribe for the same
network operator depends on the network operators limitation. Customers need to
repeat the same steps for all the operators which they are interested. In the
same way user can choose N number of network operators without worrying about
SIM card slots.
If customer wants
to disconnect the particular network operator then customer should take their registered
mobile device to the network operator and then the network operator deactivate
the particular mobile device id information from their server and then delete
the related operator information from the mobile device without effecting the
other operators data. Once the network operator deactivates the mobile device
ID from their database then the signal will go off automatically from the
mobile device without doing any additional steps by the customer.
Also, as per the information on the link https://whatphone.com.au/esim-plans/esims-and-what-they-mean-for-theaustralian-market/, eSIMs also known as soft SIM are available.. An eSIM is basically an ’embedded’ or ‘electronic’ SIM card which is built into a mobile phone, smartphone or tablet device at the point of manufacture. However only single network can be operated using eSIMs.
Advantages:
2. Mobile device manufacturer cost can decrease by removing the SIM card slots from the motherboard.
3. SIM card space can be utilized for other features
4. No limitations on choosing network operators
5. Dynamic allocate and de-allocate the network operators.
6. Battery life will be increased
7. Reduce e-waste by not manufacturing the use and throw SIM cards
8. Unlike IMEI no one can change the mobile device ID
9. So easy to track the device

actual design images.
If you observe the below image you can see multiple network
signals which represents multiple network operators without any SIM cards
